LEGAL AID EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT
This program is keen on ensuring that the marginalized community access justice at all times. It does so by empowering them on their rights especially those entrenched on Chapter 4 (Bill of Rights) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.
Objectives:
- To increase access to justice by the
marginalized community.
- To build capacity for human rights
defenders and marginalized communities to - Effectively promote and enjoy
fundamental rights and freedom.
- To increase knowledge and understanding of the Constitution and other laws.
Under this program LLAC works closely with
a team of ten (10) paralegals and pro bono advocates who receive cases of human
rights violations and ensure that victims get appropriate redress. The cases
are from walk-in clients and referrals from partners. Redress mainly includes;
legal advice, drafting of legal documents and court representation.
